It is Finished....
Yes the garden season has come to an end. We received a killing frost Friday night so that meant that on Saturday Jason pulled tomato plants. We were very happy with our garden this year. I love being able to go out into our garden and pick fresh veggies for our meals. There are a few things we are going to try next year like some square foot gardening, growing garlic, and trying to have a better herb bed.

The tomatoes I picked during Friday before the frost came.
It was so nice this week that we all went for a stroller ride.

Our Week in Review

This week was Homecoming at Selby Area. So that meant a busy week for Jason with activities during nights.

Monday night we picked apples from our neighbor's tree. So we have been eating apples daily.

.

Tuesday afternoon Nolan lost his umbilical cord.

It was also coronation and all four of us went to the school. Nolan slept through the whole thing. Peyton was good during half of it then decided it was time to run around with mom in the hallways. After coronation Jason stayed for the Bon fire while I went home to put the boys to bed.

Wednesday I started watching one of my daycare kids again in the afternoon. We had movie night here at the Roslansky house and the evening showing was "Cars". Peyton seemed to like the parts when the music was playing he would get up and dance.

Thursday was the volleyball game. Jason and Peyton went earlier then Nolan and I went later to the game. Nolan again slept through most of the game until the last match and then it was feeding time. So we loaded them up in the jeep and I came home and put Peyton to bed.

Friday was when I started taking my full time daycare girl Miss T. She has changed so much in only 3 weeks. It reminds me to enjoy every little thing because they change so fast on you. In the afternoon the 3 kids and I walked downtown to watch the parade. Peyton had fun picking up the candy that got thrown from the vehicles. He was the first and only kid on the one side of the road so that meant we got a lot of candy.

In the afternoon Jason took Nolan to Mobridge for his Dr. visit. Nolan has gained 1 lb so he is tipping the scale at 8.2 lbs. Nolan has been sleeping 4 hours between feeding. Yeah!!! The Dr. report was good and we will go back in a month.
Later that night was the football game. We all went to the tailgate meal at the school and then Jason headed to the football game to do the announcing. While the boys and I came home since I did not think I was ready to handle 2 kids at a football game by myself.

Saturday Jason got up early to go duck hunting and shot 3 ducks. Then later this morning we went to a Rummage Sale at the Good Samaritan Home and picked up a recliner and a HUGE TV all for $50. Jason and his Ag teacher hauled the TV downstairs I was thankful that I didn't have to help move it.

One Week Old

It is hard for me to think that Nolan is already a week old. He seems to change day by day. Nolan has been a little more alert during the days and lifting his head up more and more.

Canning Season

Font size

I have been busy lately canning tomatoes. I am trying to keep up with the all the tomatoes that keep producing in our garden. I have canned a mild and a hot salsa(for Jason), tomato basil soup, garden veggie soup, whole tomatoes, tomato juice, peaches, cherries, pasta sauce, brushetta, and chicken wing sauce. I also made Sun-dried tomatoes I was surprised with how much Peyton enjoyed eating them.

Peyton helping me make some peach pies. It was quite an experience we had flour all over my kitchen along with a lot of giggles and laughs.

We traveled to Brookings this weekend for a Farmhouse wedding. We had a fun time meeting some new farmhouse men and catching up with some old friends. Peyton did very well through the whole event. He was fun to watch dance at the reception. I think he got his moves from his dad.
On Sunday Grandma S. and Bob came up to Brookings to see us. We had breakfast together then walked around McCrory gardens. It was a fun getaway for us.
