Christmas in Iowa and Minnesota

We traveled down to Iowa and Minnesota on Wednesday night to see our families. We thought it would be better to leave one day early to avoid traveling in a storm like last year. Which was a good idea as my sister didn't make it on Thursday night due to the road conditions but she was able to arrive on Friday. We went to Candlelight Christmas Eve service at Immanuel Lutheran Peyton enjoyed blowing my candle out. I believe that he thought it was another b-day candle for him. After the service it was time to eat and then open gifts. Peyton was able to video chat with his Uncle Chris who is deployed over seas in Djibouti, Africa. Uncle Chris was able to watch us all open are gifts from each other. Peyton loved walking up to the computer and waving to his uncle. I think we may have to start video chatting with some of our family.

Who is calling you? It better not be your girlfriend Lanie! (One of my daycare kids told her grandma that Peyton was her boyfriend.)

Aunt Linette and Nolan with new clothes for him.

A teddy bear for Nolan.

Jason, Grpa, Linette and I playing pinochle. Next time maybe Jason and I will win?!?

Grandma and Aunt Jana were on kid patrol while we played cards. Thanks!!!

On Sunday and Monday we spent time with the Roslansky side. We enjoyed wonderful meals and good conservations.

All the Roslansky cousins. It took us sereval attemps to try to get Peyton to sit still for a picture.

Peyton loved playing the piano at the Prins' house. I think we have a musician on our hands

Peyton who do you see on the other side of the tank?

Nolan playing with his cousins.

Christmas in Selby

We decided to celebrate Christmas here in Selby on Sunday since we willing be traveling to Minnesota and Iowa for Christmas with our families. Our day started with going to church to see the children's program. It was so fun to watch 2 of my daycare girls up on the stage. Then after the program Peyton received his Christmas sack which had gum, candy bar and an apple. Jason wondered what happened to having peanuts in sack. As soon as we got the sack Peyton had to have his apple. So that is why in some of the pictures Peyton is eating an apple.

"Mom, I don't want to take my tie off! I don't care if we are going to have brunch I need my tie on!!!! "

Can you believe that I am 3 months old?
Nolan is changing right in front of ours eyes. He now will study his hands as seen in the picture. He also has slept through the night a few times during the week for us. YEAH!!!!
Nolan enjoys playing/hitting his gym toy. He has sat in the walker and watched the kids play downstairs. We also have put him in the highchair while we are having supper.
Christmas at the Capitol

On Friday night we traveled to Pierre to see the Christmas trees at the Capitol. I was very impressed with the display of Christmas trees on all the floors of the capitol.

Future Office for Peyton or Nolan????

Peyton was fun to watch as he looked at all the trees. He would walk around saying,"Lights, Lights." and then pointing to all the trees.

Peyton also discovered the phone booths. It was one of Peyton's favorite things at the capitol he would running back to the phone booth. We finally had to move to a different floor so he wouldn't keep running to answer the phone.

Santa Clause is Coming to town......
Santa made a special appearance in Selby this weekend. We traveled down to the Opera House to see Santa and all the decorated christmas trees. Nolan was quite content to sit on Santa's lap. Peyton on the other hand didn't cry this year but wouldn't go near Santa without Dad right there with him.

On Sunday it was time to make our gift bags for all the staff at Selby Area. Peyton was so willing to help me make bread. He really got in using the bench knife. We made 45 gift bags with a small loaf of bread and rasp. jam in each bag. Grandma T. thanks for making the jam!
