Road Trip: Part II

St. Louis to Penascola

We left St. Louis in the morning and started heading towards Atlanta, GA. We thought we would take our time and see some sights. We made several stops including Paduka, Ky were we ate lunch and played at a playground. Then the next stop was Nashville,TN to go to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The kids did good on the first level but what were we thinking taking 2 little kids into a museum that have been in a truck all day. So needless to say we saw about half of the exhibits.

The kiddos burning off more of their energy outside the museum.

We arrived into Atlanta at my sister's house late that night.

Good morning Deck! We came all the way from South Dakota to finally meet you.

During the next morning we headed to a park for the kids to play. Then it was onto the organic grocery store for some shopping and lunch. It was fun to see all the different items you could buy, that you couldn't get in South Dakota. After lunch we headed back to the house to hang out.

Jason and Peyton headed to Legoland and came back with some legos.

Jason, Peyton and Uncle Sean building with legos
Peyton did pretty good building the kit but I think that the men had more fun helping Peyton put the pieces together.

While they were playing with legos. I was in charge of watching the younger two.

Kennesaw mountain

The next day Sean, Deck, Jason, the boys and I went hiking up Kennesaw Mountain which is near Altanta.
Dad, Can I have some water?
Nolan was on Jason's shoulders half of the time going up and down the mountain. Nolan did well walking up the path for almost a two year old.

Peyton, Sean and Deck.
Sean had this cool backpack for Deck to ride in. Deck even fell asleep in it for awhile going up the mountain.

The view from the top. Yeah, we made it!

Wow I am thristy. That was hard work but I did it.
Take a break before heading back down.

Later on we ate out for supper when Jana got off from work. After supper we headed to a cupcake store to have a little treat.

Nolan liked the frosting the best.
Deck, do you want a cupcake?

Jana and Peyton enjoying their cupcakes.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time in Atlanta. It was fun to see how my big sister is now a mom. Deck is a very good baby we only headr him cry once or twice while we were there. Thank you Sean, Jana and Deck for letting us invade your house. We had a great time.

Road trip: Part I

Selby to St. Louis Summer of 2012

We left Selby June 15th for Spirit Lake, Iowa. We stayed with my parents for a week.
One night Jason and the boys flew a kite. Peyton was very interested in holding the string and watching the kite. Nolan could care less about what they were doing.

Nolan would rather have another ear of sweet corn than fly a kite.

Grandma and Nolan playing

Peyton building with his legos. My mom bought him some legos and when she brought them home she realized that they were the little ones. Peyton saw the new legos and had to open them and Grandma couldn't tell him no. So both of them looked at the pictures and started putting the pieces together. Peyton did a wonderful job looking at the pictures to see what came next.

While we were in Spirit Lake we headed up to the Twin Cities to see Jason's sister JoAnn and her kids Makayla and Evan. We all headed to the Minnesota Zoo.

Peyton and Makayla looking at the bears.

This was Jason's favorite exhibit I think it is because they were so close to us.

Is he looking at me?

Nolan loved feeding the goat. He got mad at me when I took him out to see another exhibit.

Peyton on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the goats. When Jason tried putting Peyton down he justed screamed. Later we asked Peyton why he didn't like the goats and he said," They will eat me." I don't know where he got that idea from.

Evan and Nolan taking a breather

The pegiuin exhibit was my favorite one. It was fun to watch them swim around.

A few days later we headed to St. Louis. We stayed with my Aunt and Uncle. We had a fun time swimming in their new pool and chatting. I wish that I toook more pictures. We also went to the Arch.

Here we are waiting to go up the Arch.

Boys, what can you see?

We also went to visit Jason's Aunt who also lives near St. Louis. It was nice to catch up with her and for her to met Nolan for the first time.

Update

I know it has been a long time since I updated you on what is going on with us. Lately we have been busy getting ready to go to Tok, Alaska.

We had a garage sale. My parents came up to help with it and the kids. We sold all of our large items. I was so glad that I didn't have to haul those items back into the garage or house.

We also have been busying cleaning our house to show it. We have had 2 families look at it and possilby a few more people interested in it.

Jason bought a new carcoal/gas grill. He thought that he could just take it apart and put the grill back in the box when we move. After realizing that it takes 3 hours to put together and how many pieces it took I think we will be leaving it in one piece.

We had been to a park for the kids everyday. That is mainly to keep our house clean and ready to  show.

Nolan favorite thing is swinging at the park.
 Peyton likes to dig
In the front of the house Peyton likes to ride his bike and Nolan likes to push his Tonka truck.

Sledding

Saturday morning we took Peyton and Nolan sledding near our golf course. Nolan went down a few times with Peyton but after falling head first into the snow Nolan was done sledding and sat a watched Peyton. Peyton loved going sledding so much that he wore Jason and I out. Towards the end we had to take turns going up with Peyton.

I am strong

Lately, Peyton will say No, Ma me me, then strike this muscle pose. Which means I am strong and I can wipe up that spill, lift my blanket or help Nolan with something to name a few items.
