Fall time in Alaska

A few weeks ago we traveled to Fairbanks. The tree have all turned their fall colors. It was gorgeous to look up on the mountains and see all the colors.

 

 Time to strech our legs near one of the rivers.

Birthday party

Saturday September 8th was Nolan's birthday we held a skype party with his grandparents. I made a Elmo ice cream cake for the occasion. I have been trying to get Nolan to hold two finger up when I asked how old is he going to be. He would hold up 4 or 5 fingers. While I was making his birthday cake I had to crush the oreos and when I asked him how old he was going to be he replied,"wo." So I gave he a Oreo then he would keep coming up to me and saying, "wo" so I would be him another oreo. Now he won't answer that question unless he get a Oreo. 

Nolan did very well with the ice cream I thought I was going to get all over the table but he barely got his shirt dirty.

School time

Today was Peyton's first day at Head Start. This is Peyton and Nolan eating breakfast yesterday

Head Start

Peyton is starting Head Start on Tuesday. Today we headed there to meet his teachers and all the staff. He will be going to Head Start in the mornings Monday through Thursday. I have been talking to Peyton about going to get on the school bus and then they will take him to Head Start. Then he told me that all I get to do is wave and miss him but he will be happy at school. I think he is ready.

Exploring the Tok River

On Sunday we went for a drive to the village of Mentasta.  On our way back to Tok we made a stop at the Tok River.
